About Riya Behl
How can we use creative and collaborative methods to. do action-oriented research facilitate multimedia storytelling and documentation foster collective ownership & a sense of belonging?These are questions I explore as a researcher, journalist, facilitator and artist. I\'ve trained in action-oriented, creative and participatory research methods during a course called Power, Participation and Social Change at the Institute of Development Studies, UK. My undergrad led me to Sociology, Anthropology and Environmental Studies at Ashoka University, India. Previously, I reported and edited multimedia feature stories for the People’s Archive of Rural India (PARI), an open-access, award-winning, digital media organisation. I worked closely on developing their education wing. This involved facilitating workshops on citizen journalism, designing and facilitating experiential education through storytelling, documentary photography and film.
