ABOUT RIYA SAPRA

TL;DR: I joined Teach For India to impact communities and later joined the recruitment team to inspire future Fellows. My experiences reinforced my interest in management, leading me to IIM Visakhapatnam’s PGP program to further my leadership skills. As a student at SVC, I embraced opportunities like volunteering with MAD, joining Enactus, and more. During this time, I discovered my desire to engage with communities and make a meaningful difference. After graduation, I joined the Teach For India Fellowship, working for two years with 60+ young girls in a primary classroom at a government school in Aya Nagar, Delhi. Through the Fellowship, I took every opportunity to understand and address the local realities, including leading Project Sampoorn. In the final months of my Fellowship, I had a conversation with my 3rd grader, Gunjan, who shared her dream:\"Didi, one day I wish to go to college.\" This encounter crystallized my commitment to ensuring students like Gunjan achieve their dreams. I realized that while I would soon leave the classroom, my students needed a role model for the journey ahead. This led me to the Teach For India recruitment team, where I’ve engaged with over student leaders, helping them connect with the education sector and understand how the Fellowship can support their long-term goals. These experiences solidified my interest in management and building robust systems for sustainable growth, ultimately leading me to IIM Visakhapatnam\'s flagship PGP program to further develop my leadership skills.
