Selective fellowship for young people to start an impactful research, policy, or entrepreneurial project with a stipend. As a fellow in the pilot program, I dove into challenges surrounding PPE and explored potential mitigation strategies• As a Facilitator for the Summer 2023 Non-trivial Fellowship, I was awarded a stipend for mentoring 3 cohorts and providing targeted assistance with their projects in biosecurity. One of my cohorts was in the top 3. • I continued my engagement with Non-trivial by returning as a paid Facilitator for the Summer 2024 Fellowship. I advised 7 students through 1-1 weekly meetings on projects ranging from the development of a workflow for rapid design of siRNAs targeting viral CREs to a policy proposal for an EU pandemic spread control force. One of my mentees was in the top 3. • I recently facilitated the Winter and Spring iterations of the 2025 Research Foundations Program. It involves guiding talented high school students through the research process by answering questions, holding 1-1 meetings, and hosting events such as literature review demos, research area meet-ups, and impact & ethics meet-ups. • I will be facilitating the Summer 2025 Fellowship and providing individualized project support to 9-10 fellows.
