About River 瑩瑩 Dandelion
As an educator, my curriculum and pedagogy centers culturally responsive education and racial equity. My work lives at the intersections of the arts, healing, and movement-building. I currently teach undergraduate creative writing at Rutgers University where I specialize in contemporary American poetry and hybrid work. I teach courses and facilitate trainings and workshops that use storytelling and critical self-reflection to guide participants towards transformation of self in order to transform the world. I believe knowing oneself and healing are critical components of sustainable activism and living a life of purpose. I hold space for participants to discover and claim the truths, stories, and knowledge within. In my sessions, I use dynamic facilitation paired with storytelling, self-reflection, embodied exercises, I am experienced in doing so for a variety of ages from youth to university students and organizational staff. and discussion to encourage participants to unlearn systems of oppression and embody greater truths. Outside of my education and facilitation work, I am also an experienced digital strategist in online political advocacy. My work centers building thriving communities and achieving high social impact.
