About Ritwik Nandi
I am a Geotechnical Engineer with an M.Tech.+ Ph.D.(Dual Degree) from Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay). I did my B.E. from IIEST, Shibpur. I specialize in Geotechnical Earthquake Engineering, Soil Dynamics and design of Reinforced soil structures. At present, I\'m working as Manager - Designs at Terre Armee India.My expertise are- Numerical modeling of geotechnical structures namely deep excavation, tunneling, shallow and deep foundations, retaining structures, embankments, etc- Highly proficient in the Finite Element-based geotechnical software PLAXIS2D & 3D- Analysis and Design of Retaining structures- Design of Reinforced soil wall- Design of Reinforced soil slope- Design of Slope stabilization with soil nails (SDA & solid)- Design of shallow and deep foundations- Seismic site response analysis- Interpretation of geotechnical field and laboratory test data- Analysis of ground-borne vibration due to the operation of High-Speed Trains and various construction activities- Identifying problematic soil and providing effective ground improvement solutions. I am a fast learner and an enthusiastic teacher. I assisted professors in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate level theory and laboratory courses at IIT Bombay. I was involved in Nine Industrial Consultancy Projects at IIT Bombay. My Ph.D. research focused on developing improved analysis methods for the performance-based design of Embedded Retaining Walls (sheet pile wall, diaphragm wall, contiguous and secant pile walls) and passive earth pressure under static and seismic loading conditions.
