About Ritvik Gupta
I am a problem solver. No matter how big or small the problem is I would like to have a go at it, if it suits the benefit - time tradeoff. I am currently employed as a Research Engineer in TCS, one of the biggest IT firms in the entire world. Over the short span of 5 years of my career, I have navigated my way through various technologies, using them to solve various kinds of problems in the industry. I started with Mainframes and then moved to IIB (IBM integration bus) for developing SOAP services and APIC (API Connect) for Rest APIs, with a couple months of Guidewire (Java based) on the way. In between I took a small detour towards Android Development for about 3 - 4 months, and then came back just to finish what I had started. After about a year in IIB, I switched to the expressway of MERN stack, with a little less focus on React.js and some focus on Electron.js for desktop apps. I travelled there for around half a year and managed an entire module of a backend for a client POC on my own. That brings us to today, where now I am working on an optimization framework called Pyomo for solving industry related optimization problems. I would like to mention that in all the above mentioned technologies, with the exception of Mainframe and Guidewire, I have written programs which have provided value for the client. I would also like to mention that I have some knowledge in Machine Learning as well as experience in using certain libraries like numpy, pandas, scikit-learn, scipy in few of the practice problems. Lately, in my role as a research engineer, I am working on Quantum Computing and its applications in optimization. I have gained some experience in using Qiskit and Dwave\'s Ocean SDK libraries. I\'ll admit that it is a challenging role and quite different from my previous roles in terms of the effort and skill needed. However, that is what makes it exciting and worthy to pursue. I am a curious person, always interested in learning more about anything and everything. That has helped me a lot in my working career as well. All the tasks which I have completed as part of client projects, have had certain problems in the ideation or implementation stage, and required innovative solutions, which I have been able to solve with the help of my reasoning skills and the knowledge I have gathered over time.
