ABOUT RITUPARNA BANERJEE

Head of Asset Liability Management (ALM) in Treasury for India’s 3rd largest private sector Bank – Axis Bank Ltd.A senior banking professional with 19+ years of rich experience in financial markets. I joined the Bank in 2006 as part of the campus selection process. I am part of the Bank’s fast track talent pool and have been promoted 5 levels since 2006 to Senior Vice President currently.With a Masters degree from the Delhi School of Economics, the best economics school in the country, I started as the first economist setting up the Economics & Business Research function in the Bank. With strong fundamentals across financial markets and economy, I was picked up in Bank’s Treasury in 2011 as part of the first dedicated ALM team to design balance sheet management strategies, analytics, processes & systems to support the fast growing balance sheet.Today, I am responsible for managing liquidity for the bank, delivering dual returns of yield and profits from the investments portfolio, optimizing asset liability mismatches with respect to tenor, interest rate and currency across domestic, overseas books and key subsidiaries. I am one of the senior most women leaders in the Bank annd lead a team of 16 resources to deliver the ALM objectives using onshore and offshore instruments across money market, fixed income, CD, deposits, borrowing, forex and derivatives markets. My career objectives include leading Treasury and Market functions in global organisations with focus on leveraging technology, data and market understanding while ensuring proper governance and control.
