ABOUT RITIMUKTA SARANGI
I am a senior scientist at Stanford Synchrotron Radiation Lightsource (SSRL) at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory with 19 years of experience in the development and application of hard X-ray spectroscopy sciences to scientific problems at the interface of DOE-BES and DOE-BER mission science. I lead several independent and complementary activities at SSRL. As a research scientist, I have led national and international teams to understand scientific questions on homogeneous catalytic systems from metalloenzymes to electrocatalytic transition metal systems. I have > 75 scientific peer reviewed publications. As a senior member of the Structural Molecular Biology Resource management team, I drive the technological development, especially those related to remote-access operations and user access related capabilities on all hard X-ray spectroscopy facilities. As a key advisor to SSRL and SLAC leadership, I chair and lead the effort to develop the scientific case for a green field upgrade of SSRL over a 10-year roadmap. As a lead scientist for the biological and environmental sciences user research at SSRL, I have spearheaded and lead a DOE-BER outreach program at SSRL which has played a central role in expanding DOE-BER funded and relevant science portfolio at SSRL, through targeted collaboration, training and dissemination activities.
