Shaw’s renewable energy investments division to the formation of DESRI as an independent entity, while building out core processes and ensuring regulatory compliance.Key responsibilities:1. Financial Oversight: Managed project budgets, cash flow, and risk management expenses to ensure operational efficiency.2. Investor Engagement: Worked with lenders and tax equity investors to validate project viability and enhance investment potential.3. Insurance Oversight: Directed insurance programs and built relationships with underwriters in the USA and UK.4. Milestone Reporting: Delivered reports at major project stages, including FNTP, Mechanical Completion, Substantial Completion, and Refinancing.5. Risk Mitigation: Oversaw surety bonds and led mitigation efforts such as vegetation management, hail protection, and hurricane resilience.6. Risk Analysis: Conducted risk assessments across individual projects and the full portfolio, with a focus on natural catastrophe exposure.This role enhanced my expertise in risk strategy and insurance while deepening my experience in organizational transformation and compliance.
