About Ritayan Mukherjee
I\'m a graduate student at Purdue University finding my foot in applied fluid-structure interaction research. I currently focus on research and development in finer tribological aspects of axial piston pumps. My research base is in thermal systems and fluid mechanics, having previously worked on several problems involving aerospace-based components such as the thermal insulation of cryogenic tanks and cooling manifolds for avionics, as well as broader, more fundamental topics like the hydrodynamics of cylinder-filament systems and non-intrusive droplet dynamics. They tie in with my basic fascination for research seeking to build a comprehensive physical understanding of in-use and potential engineering systems with regard to the interplay of fluid flow, heat transfer and structural factors.I enjoy reading and occasionally writing stories, screenplays and essays on films from around the world.
