Bent Arrow Traditional Healing Society supports the mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical well-being of Indigenous children, youth, and families in Edmonton and surrounding areas.In my role, I support Indigenous jobseekers throughout their participation in the program, offering guidance, encouragement, and practical strategies to help them explore career pathways, build skills, and secure meaningful employment. I conduct comprehensive intakes with potential applicants, gathering information to complete Supports and Needs Determination (SND) documentation, verifying eligibility through the COMPASS government database, and coordinating interviews with case managers/interviewing myself to ensure timely and appropriate support.As an Employer Recruiter (Job Developer), I build and maintain relationships with organisations committed to inclusive hiring practices, matching employers with candidates whose skills, strengths, and potential align with workforce needs.I also facilitate interactive, trauma-informed workshops that focus on career readiness, skill development, and personal growth. These sessions are designed to foster confidence, resilience, and self-discovery, while creating a safe and empowering learning environment.This role allows me to make a meaningful impact on participants’ employment journeys while strengthening community and employer partnerships that support long-term success.
