I have taught MATH 1180 (PreCalculus) at Western Michigan University for three semesters - Spring 2025, Summer I 2025, and Fall 2025. Topics discussed in the class include: complex numbers, exponent rules and exponential equations, logarithm rules and logarithm equations, functions (rational root test, Descartes\' rule of signs, finding zeroes of polynomials), and trigonometry (sine laws, cosine laws, coterminal angles, reference angles, solving word problems, solving triangles).I am scheduled to teach MATH 3740 (Differential Equations/Linear Algebra) as part of my Directed Teaching in Spring 2026.

ABOUT RITABRATO CHATTERJEE
Solving challenging and intriguing mathematical problems is something that I have enjoyed since childhood. Mathematics, especially Graph Theory, Number Theory and The Theory of Equations, interests me a lot since numbers and equations mesmerize me the most. Apart from mathematics, poetry is something that I enjoy too. Poetries of Rabindranath Tagore, John Keats and William Wordsworth fascinate me and makes me wonder of the connection between human and nature and all its delicacies, that sometimes we overlook in our prosaic life.I am a logic-driven meticulous person who is passionate about Mathematics and mathematical puzzles and games. I always strive to find and discover the reason behind everything I do or is being done. The joy of reasoning gives me great satisfaction, for it is only then that I can realize the true beauty of something.My most favorite and passionate topic of study is Ramsey Theory, which is one of the most widely open areas of research in Mathematics, especially in Graph Theory. The intricate delicacy and subtlety of this topic is that it is one of the easy-to-state-difficult-to-find problems. The theory asserts that complete disorder within large structures is impossible. There have been investigations of its application in certain areas of mathematics such as in Measure theory, Information theory, to name a few.
