About Rishit Podder

I’m a GIST graduate from Texas A&M with a strong interest in data analytics, GIS, and building practical, tech-driven solutions. I started out in industrial engineering for three years before realizing how boring it was, so I pivoted into Geographic Information Science & Technology, and haven’t looked back. Since then, I’ve been deep in all sides of GIS. I even started a business, GIS Guys, to take on real-world projects. Every job brought new challenges, from mapping utilities to building dashboards and training city staff. I’ve built up a versatile skill set with ArcGIS Pro, Field Maps, Dashboards, and more. I’ve spent lots of time designing workflows, doing spatial analysis, and leading projects from kickoff to delivery. Whether it\'s collecting field data or managing hosted feature layers, I’m about making systems that work better and smarter. Open to full-time roles where I can bring all this to the table and keep learning.

   City Of Navasota

   Mar 2025 — Present

   Replacing outdated legacy workflows by building a ArcGIS-based spatial data system for the City of Navasota, enabling real-time infrastructure mapping and smarter asset management. Designed and deployed a user-friendly ArcGIS Dashboard to visualize ongoing private commercial developments and public city-funded projects, enhancing transparency with real-time project updates. Leading GIS-driven mapping of water, gas, irrigation, and sewer valves using ArcGIS Field Maps, implementing real-time data collection and developing an application for data management and visualization.
