Led mechanical testing, Raman spectroscopy and biochemical assays on osteochondral allografts to assess tissue composition, health, and graft suitability to advance pre-implantation clinical selection criteria- Generated longitudinal diagnostics of knee arthrofibrosis via Raman spectroscopy in an in vitro model based on contraction of synoviocyte-laden collagen gels- Performed wet lab procedures, joint dissection, cell culture work, biochemical assays, mechanical testing, spectroscopy assessments, MATLAB processing and data analysis.Summer Project: Live Raman Monitoring of Engineered Cartilage Growth - Developed a phantom-corrected Raman spectroscopy system for non-destructive, longitudinal monitoring of engineered cartilage growth over 44 days- Implemented a Raman-based spectral analysis pipeline applying linear regression models and phantom calibration for compositional quantification of extracellular matrix (ECM) constituents- Demonstrated strong correlation between Raman-derived and biochemical assay measurements (R² = 0.73 for GAG, R² = 0.60 for water), validating real-time tissue assessment accuracy- Selected for presentation at Boston University’s UROP Symposium (Fall 2025).
