Project Title: simulate extraterrestrial violent particulate phenomena to formulate methods for containment.• Run high-fidelity multiphase coupled LES/DPM CFD of cough-like particulate jets in microgravity using ~5M cell meshes on HPC clusters, achieving stable Courant (1), and 40-hour wall-clock runtimes to characterize droplet dispersion and final particle states.• Develop boundary conditions for jet velocity profiles, particle size distributions, low gravity effects, and extraterrestrial atmospheric variation using Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) data for accurate CFD analysis.• Verified mesh and geometrical independence for initial RANS model, using vertex-averaged point velocity, allowing for LES progression• Abstract accepted by APS Global Summit, for research manuscript detailing dispersion regimes, final state particle maps, and implications for enclosed environment airflow and containment systems.
