I am a policy professional, founder, and disability advocate working at the intersection of governance, inclusion, and cultural strategy.I hold a Master’s degree from Johns Hopkins University and began my career in the Obama White House, where I worked on disability and sports policy. I later worked in government affairs at Bechtel — including managing the PAC — and advised on retail and competition policy at Gap Inc. These roles provided a front-row seat to board-level decision-making, regulatory strategy, and stakeholder engagement.My perspective is shaped by both professional expertise and lived experience.After three decades of living with over a dozen life-threatening chronic illnesses, including years spent wheelchair-bound and navigating extended hospitalizations, I gained a clear understanding of the gap between compliance and true inclusion. That gap is where reputational risk, missed markets, and loss of trust often live.Today, as Founder & CEO of Empower Beauty By Rishika, I work with brands, leaders, and institutions to embed accessibility and inclusion into core strategy.
