Assess product design to evaluate design feasibility and manufacturability within the general assembly domain of automotive manufacturing for both unibody and body-on-frame vehicles Collaborate with product development, manufacturing tooling, industrial engineering and plant management to communicate impact of product specifications and packaging, tooling requirements, plant resources and constraints Drive Design to Manufacture (DTM) projects to improve manufacturing process, reduce BOM complexity or achieve tooling investment savings Analyze new or existing tooling interface to product for compatibility and integration into the available plant systems. This includes critical lift assists and fixtures, chassis pallets and vehicle carriers Create preliminary process maps for new projects plant layout references and part layering knowledge to identify location of critical processes across multiple sections of a general assembly plant. Collaborate with Industrial Engineering to formalize process maps
