Developing an automated hydraulic aircraft-jacking system which will replace existing handoperated jacks, reducing the risk of load limit exceedance and saving 8+ hours per lift operation; currently designing load pads and evener systems which will replace current jack setup - Designed and implemented a load-reaction tool which successfully removed a stuck pylon fitting from the fuselage; modified a hydraulic pump and actuator circuit for integration with the tool; worked closely with the test director and air force customers to ensure the safety of the test article - Coordinated the refurbishment of 89 hydraulic actuators; designed, analyzed, optimized, tested, and implemented overhead lifting tools which allowed seals to be replaced on several obstructed load systems- Conducted fatigue testing; took initiative to diagnose various issues and devise solutions leading to improved load quality and a faster cycling rate - Created and enforced the use of a database and inventory/check-out process for raw material, leading to a two-month timeline reduction and thousands of dollars saved from unnecessary material procurement- Developed, improved, and implemented several procedures for the safe performance of test and maintenance steps such as cycling, stress checks, and aircraft jacking - Gained familiarity with tools as well as fabrication techniques/practices by working closely with weld/machine shop mechanics, leading to improved manufacturability of designs - Extensive use of CATIA, FEA (Elfini), and GD & T for the design of tools, fixtures, and processes
