About Risa Fielder
As a child, I would constantly pester my mother to stop the car so I could ask people what they were doing and, more importantly, why they were doing it. I continue to draw from this deep well of genuine curiosity, especially when navigating life’s most consequential decisions. I am the Chief of Staff at JDI — a boutique marketing and communications firm with a mission to promote science companies. I amplify work as a thought partner, project manager, and implementer on strategic projects. I am the ultimate generalist with the unique ability to flex into many roles at the firm and lead the performance of any department.In 2024, I co-founded and produced the inaugural Penrose event, an intimate gathering of the most intriguing people in the science world: researchers, investors, founders, entrepreneurs, executives, artists, and storytellers. I know serve as its CEO. Together, we joined at the edge of our thinking against a backdrop of our most challenging interdisciplinary “impossibilities.” To me, Penrose isn’t just a gathering — it’s a playground for ideas and action that can outlive all of us. I’m honored and privileged to learn together, challenge each other, and most importantly, to serve you — the brilliant community that makes it real.I am also a member of the global Chief of Staff Association and love embarking on new opportunities with this group of highly talented individualsAs a mother of two fun children and wife to the best junior high school teacher there is, I spend my free time building forts, giving cuddles, and reading books.
