Managerial/Leadership:Acts as a preceptor and provides orientation and competency assessment for dietitian students.Actively participate in goal setting and performance.Demonstrates critical thinking in conflict management and problem-solving.Participates in the maintenance of sufficient inventory of material supplies and equipment for performance of duties.Participates in the recruitment of team members.Involved in updating nutrition standards of care and procedures and promote the evidence-based practice. Clinical Practice:Screen, Assess, Develop nutrition diagnosis, provide nutrition intervention, counsel, monitor and evaluate patients utilizing evidence-based nutrition care plan across all age-specific groups and medical nutrition therapy groups; particularly paediatric patients.Providing medical nutrition therapy for long term paediatric patients with different medical conditions including but not limited to metabolic diseases, neurological disorders, encephalopathy, muscular diseases and congenital disorders.Prepare, complete and maintain nutrition records, inclusive of assessments, interventions and evaluations in the medical record.Providing enteral nutrition by calculating needs and determining optimal formulas.Undertake home health care and outpatient caseload as required.Liaising with unit and food service staff concerning nutritional care plan, goals and dietary requirements of inpatients on a daily basis.Participate in medical rounds.Communicating complex sensitive information in an understandable form to patients, families and carers.Collect anthropometric measurements. Clinical education:Provides peer review.Show evidence of up to date evidence-based practice and research.Precepts students and junior staff.Deliver training withing the team and facility.Conferences nationally and internationally.Engages in health promotion activities.
