About Riley Goff
I am a current junior Honors student enrolled in both the Culverhouse College of Business and Barefield College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Alabama pursuing a dual-degree in Operations Management and International Studies with a minor in French.I am enthusiastic not only about my studies, but about finding unique ways I can apply what I learn within the classroom to each of my extracurricular and professional endeavors as a convergence of my strengths and passions. As such, I am heavily involved on campus, serving in leadership roles in Alpha Kappa Psi professional business fraternity and the Special Olympics College Club at UA. In addition to the community service I have the opportunity to participate in within these organizations, I spend time volunteering weekly with French Learning Exploration at local elementary schools to teach 3rd - 5th grade students about not only the language but also about thinking with an open and international perspective. Professionally, I have most recently completed a summer internship with Unum on their Operational Effectiveness team in the Benefits and Shared Services department. In this role, I developed and gained skills in collaborative, project-based work, professional communication, lean management practices, and research. This sparked an inspiration to seek out my current involvement as a Faculty Research Scholar in the Management Department at UA, where I apply the communication and research skills I learned over the summer to various projects throughout the semester.
