Building/ extending networked gameplay systems, alongside other features like UX additions, and art asset implementations, to support our 3v3 multiplayer FPS vertical slice in Unreal Engine 5.Also helping build our workflows and communication through pipeline help, meeting organization, and learning from our yearlong time so far to make shifts in focus that have helped us move forward- Using blueprints and C++, enabling multiplayer gameplay, and iterations on it, by programming networked gameplay systems like a modular weapons system, easily reusable gamemode functionality, player bots, map movement features, and player abilities such as physics-style reflections and refractions- Supporting fast implemetation of animations, and greater animation fidelity, by using data assets, a shared anim blueprint for both 1st and 3rd person animations, and blendspaces, to help create our pipeline, along with collaborating with artists to inform and test it- Leading 2 programmers in prototyping/ polish, and unreal learning when possible, by collaboratively assigning tasks based on project needs and learning desires, pairs programming and reviewing project structure, and meeting weekly- Collaborating on systems and other design with multiple teammates, with a focus on finding a specific, interesting, and clear vision, and prototyping it as fast as is reasonable, to be able to iterate on it- Writing tutorial documentation to help to help the ease of new members joining, especially with us being remote, such as our step-by-step Perforce & Unreal setup documentation that has been used by 5+ new members.
