The Skills Lead position is responsible for the management of the Reach for the Sky challenge fund. The Fund is supported by the Department for Transport and works towards their goals for Generation aviation. The Reach for the Sky challenge fund supports programmes who help to inspire and inform young people about the careers in aviation and aerospace. We look to ensure that the projects and programmes we chose to fund are aiming to those demographics that do not have the aspiration or think they could achieve in the sector. This way we hope to ensure not only are there people that are industry ready in the next 5-10 years, but also that young people in England know they are able to aim high and achieve their dream career. Though the process of Reach for the sky we create the application completion process, collect the bid applications, score and moderate to chose the winning recipients and then monitor their chosen programmes through out the year.
