ABOUT RIJIL THOMAS
I am a Postdoctoral Researcher at AMO GmbH specializing in integrated photonics, with a strong technical foundation in photonics and nanophotonics. I hold a Ph.D. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore.My background combines research in plasmonics and nanophotonics with industrial experience in silicon photonics process integration. I work extensively with numerical modeling and simulation (Ansys Lumerical), photonic circuit layout, and programming (Python, MATLAB), alongside experience in electronics and signal processing. I also maintain an active interest in quantum technologies.I contribute to multidisciplinary projects that connect device-level innovation with fabrication constraints and system-level requirements. In parallel, I support academic development through mentoring and supervision of undergraduate, graduate, and Ph.D. researchers.My work is driven by advancing photonic technologies from fundamental device concepts to scalable, integrated solutions for next-generation optical systems.
