ABOUT RIFA SHERIN

I am a postgraduate in Molecular Microbiology at Nottingham Trent University, actively seeking career opportunities within pharmaceutical companies, healthcare departments, reputable research enterprises, and clinical laboratories. During my tenure as a research assistant focusing on microalgae, I specialized in various molecular studies and culture techniques. This included conducting DNA extractions, performing PCR amplifications, and utilizing gel electrophoresis for genetic analysis. I also applied spectrophotometry for pigment analysis and conducted microscopy for detailed morphological analysis, including cell counting. Proficient in data analysis using Chroma software, I actively contributed to experimental design, execution, and meticulous documentation throughout the research process. I have conducted research on the impact of the quorum sensing molecule 3-oxo-C4-HSL on neuron cell differentiation using the N2a mouse neuron cell line, focusing on differentiation into Dopaminergic and Cholinergic types. Additionally, I executed antimicrobial resistance testing, environmental monitoring (EM), quality control testing, and microbial identification using gram staining to assess face mask layer performance and sanitizer efficacy. These projects have provided valuable insights for improving public health and safety measures. I am eager to pursue further research opportunities in similar areas.
