About Riddhi Sarkar

I am a multimedia journalist and a graduate of American University\'s School of International Service and School of Communication. My work has been published by ABC, CNN, NBC, The Atlantic and Michigan Chronicle, along with university publications. Some notable interviews I have conducted include U.S. Senator Susan Collins, Nadia Comaneci, Tony Goldwyn, Karl Rove, Representatives John Lewis, Jerry McNerney and John Yarmuth. I am passionate about combining my interests in politics and international affairs to pursue a career in journalism with the fervent hope of contributing to a better world and a more just society. I have conducted interviews in English, Hindi and Bengali. I am a member of the South Asian Journalists Association, Asian American Journalists Association and the Online News Association. I want to use storytelling to connect communities across the globe and create platforms for all voices to have their stories told. I am currently based in New York City, where I work for ABC\'s national evening broadcast,\"World News Tonight with David Muir,\" the most-watched newscast in America.    The 1947 Partition Archive

   Jul 2015 — Present · Kolkata, IN

   I conduct video interviews of witnesses of India\'s 1947 partition. I also take photographs of interviewees and write interview summaries. My work has been featured on the cover page of the Archive\'s Spring 2016 global newsletter.
