About Riddhiman Raut
As a Ph.D. student at Penn State, I am passionate about advancing the science and technology of metal additive manufacturing (AM), especially powder-bed fusion processes. I aim to understand the physics that govern these processes and optimize them for faster, cheaper, and better production of complex metal parts.Before joining academia, I worked as a senior maintenance engineer at Gas Authority of India Ltd.(GAIL), a leading government organization in gas transmission, trading, and petrochemicals. There, I gained valuable experience in handling and operating large-scale equipment and systems, which sparked my interest in manufacturing. Besides research and engineering, I enjoy playing and watching soccer (Go Chelsea!), reading, singing, and playing the guitar. I also like to discuss politics, finance, and the latest updates in the Pokémon world. I am always open to collaborating, learning, and growing, so feel free to reach out and say hi!
