ABOUT RICO FISCHER
I am a scientist at the Julius Kühn Institute (JKI), Institute of Forest Protection. My research focuses on the development and application of forest models and digital twins to analyse and predict forest ecosystems. I investigate how biotic and abiotic factors influence forest dynamics. Using modern modelling approaches and data-driven methods, I am working to better understand complex processes in forests and to develop practical decision-making tools. A central concern of my research is the close link between science, practice and digital technologies for sustainable strategies.
