About Rick Lautenbach

Rick Lautenbach is from Las Vegas, Nevada and is a Senior Corporate Security Manager on Target\'s Corporate Security team. He serves as the Laboratory Director for Target\'s Forensic Services Laboratory, and leads the team that conducts forensic examinations for Target and for law enforcement. He also leads the Corporate Security Technical Services function, which applies specialized knowledge to unique business problems. Rick is a member of the American Society of Crime Laboratory Directors and the International Association of Chiefs of Police. He served on the IACP’s Forensic Committee and regularly presented to law enforcement and business audiences to convey how Target uses forensic science and advanced investigative techniques to solve retail business problems. Under Rick’s leadership, Target’s Forensic Services Laboratory System has been continuously accredited as a forensic services testing laboratory since 2009, most recently by ANAB under ISO/IEC 17025:2017. Rick has been involved in the criminal justice system for over 39 years and draws on his experiences with the military, municipal law enforcement and retail assets protection. Prior to this role, Rick was a Group Team Leader for Target’s Investigations program. In this position, Rick was responsible for the Target teams that conduct major property crime, fraud and violent crime investigations across the southern and western half of the United States.Specialties: Rick is an avid technologist, with a track record of identifying and solving complex business problems.
