ABOUT RICKI ORFORD

With over 20 years of experience in international public health and social impact, I am a Vice President and Senior Project Director at Population Services International (PSI), a global nonprofit organization that works to improve the health and well-being of people in low- and middle-income countries. I lead the PMI Impact Malaria project, a flagship initiative of the President\'s Malaria Initiative (PMI) that supports malaria service delivery, drug-based prevention, operational research, and global technical leadership in up to 30 countries across Africa and Asia. As a technical subject matter expert and a project leader, I oversee a team of 35 people in HQ and over 300 in the field, coordinating the resources and activities of PSI and its subcontractors Jhpeigo, MCDI, and UCSF to deliver the 200+ million dollar USAID contract. I am passionate about disease control and epidemic management, with a focus on malaria elimination in both development and emergency settings. I have extensive experience working with multiple donors, partners, and stakeholders, including USAID, Global Fund, BMGF, DFID, UNITAID, and others. I am also a skilled communicator and facilitator, who harnesses the energy of teams, maximizes their contributions, and ensures high-impact project results.
