About Rick Stine
I am a digital media executive who built newsrooms, built new products and content sets and supervised large reporting staffs. Today, I am working with a handful of talented individuals who have created a tool to help traders and investors understand relationships between different instruments. While in journalism, I helped product organizations conceptualize and build products after gathering input and ideas from customers. And then I helped sales organizations position the value behind our products. I also created and edited award-winning content. And as part of building out or newsrooms, I oversaw recruiting for Newswires Americas, leading the push for more emphasis on recruiting minorities and women. I was part of a Newswires senior management team that set global editorial strategy. I conceived and created a specialized reporting team of four columnists who wrote investigative and deeply analytical columns, one of which won the only Gerald Loeb award by a Dow Jones Newswires journalist. In every position I have held, from reporting to editing to news management, the cornerstone of my work has been innovation and a creative approach.

We have developed a sophisticated web-based software tool that can help the trader, asset manager, corporate treasurer (hedgers) or analyst discover potential profitable trading opportunities across asset classes. We began our journey several years ago looking to build the most customizable correlation tool - one that would have utility for the short-term and longer-trend trader/investor. We started by focusing on FX but through feedback from market participants in the major financial centers (NY, London, Tokyo, Hong Kong and Singapore), we expanded into other macro-economic sensitive instruments: commodities, rates, global equity indices and yes, cryptocurrencies. And yes, we built the most customizable correlation tool.We never stopped listening to the market. We were challenged by a number of folks in London to develop a momentum tool using the Markov Process. We spent more than a year figuring out how Markov can make sense for financial instruments and after much testing and back-testing, and program tweaks, we came up with a system that often shows Markov state changes occurring before price movement. So, when we took that out and showed it to banks, hedge funds, sovereign wealth funds on an Asia trip, we heard in that region of the desire to have a tool that also could help identify interesting pair-trading candidates. So, we added a section to the site that lets you back-test several popular statistical arbitrage strategies (Cointegration, Correlation and Distance)- and it also allows you to monitor trades going forward. We built a product from constant market feedback. We have a blog that highlights some interesting observations from our you can learn more on our public page of our website:https://excaliburpro.net/about
