Sheriff/ Police work in general is the protection of life and property through the enforcement of laws and ordinances.Uniformed Police work involves the responsibility for performing routine police assignments that are received from police officers of superior rank. Daily work normally consists of routine patrol in your assigned area/ beat, preliminary investigation of criminal activity, deescalating domestic and civic disputes, enforcing traffic laws, and writing reports.In addition, we will assist co-workers and other government employees on a variety of task. These could include but not limited to a search of a vehicle for illegal property, warrant service, assisting Fire Department with manual traffic control, and escorting the Health and Family Services Cabinet employee into a home to investigate a claim.
