ABOUT RICK STURGES

The energy transition is accelerating. The past decade has brought significant change to the composition of the global generation mix and that evolution will continue for years to come. Renewables (wind, solar, and storage) are being combined in innovative ways to provide ever more cost-effective solutions customized to the increasingly specific requirements of energy users. In addition, digital solutions, new technologies, and new methods of customer engagement are transforming the ways customers and their energy providers are collaborating to develop new solutions that create value and meet sustainability goals. Transformation is everywhere. The transition requires new business models, creative partnerships, and an openness to new ways of doing business.I have spent the last twenty years in transactional roles driving strategic change. From the early days of US utility deregulation through explosive growth in renewables globally, I have collaborated with colleagues around the world and in diverse energy business lines to create partnerships, acquire, divest, and restructure a wide variety of businesses in support of accelerating the energy future. Now more than ever, open dialogue and creative collaboration with others who bring a broad set of perspectives old and new is needed. It\'s an exciting time with much more to come.
