ABOUT RICK SHEPARDSON

Over the past 20 years I have built deep experience in healthcare and technology and continue to push the boundaries of possibility. My passion lies in solving complex problems and helping individuals live their best lives. I see data and the ability to derive intelligence from data as central to solving problems and have enormous potential to empower behaviors and decisions. I have deep technical experience in EHRs; understand the economics of healthcare delivery and reimbursement; believe in the principles of population health, value-based care, and consumerism; and continue to explore the latest frontiers of technology including cloud architecture, data management, artificial intelligence, robotic process automation, and analytics. I see the ongoing convergence of technology, healthcare providers, payers, and individuals and the path to wellness and individual empowerment. I also recognize the challenges that organizational leaders face in accessing their data and putting it to use in decision making. As the volume of data in the world grows exponentially and the powers of AI grow increasingly more prevalent, I am as encouraged as ever for our future. I believe that we can use data to empower healthcare providers to achieve better outcomes, enable incentive and intention alignment, and also help individuals know how, where, and when to seek out the care they need. I believe that we all have a role in shaping the future and bring strategic thought and vision to how that can best be accomplished with technology, resources, and partnerships. I look forward to advancing healthcare and technology that brings advancements to society in an adjunctive, collaborative, ethical, and moral capacity.
