Challenged with taking over a existing operation and creating a world class performing logistics optimization center made up of six different segments of business. The current operation consists of sequencing, small lot metering, container management, Performance Build Center, Quality Supplier Group and Tire & Wheel assemblies. The operation supports a very unique customer with a low daily volume build but, very high complexity and quality expectations. By providing structure, direction and identifying the individual strengths of the current management teams, we were able to orchestrate a plan to change the current condition. By creating a culture focused on safety, employee morale and continuous improvements, we were able to establish internal goals that targeted the elimination of identified waste by utilizing Lean tools supported by data collection that also reflects in decreased defects and variability in our processes, ultimately improving the quality performance to the customer. The relationship with the customer is currently at an all-time high and considered a Benchmark for all others to follow. The operation was recently awarded Packaging Supplier of the Year. They have been performing at world class standards and is in a position to sustain this level of performance. Very proud of this team.
