ABOUT RICK MISCHEL
The common thread of my career is the embracing of professional challenges as an Emmy-winning Producer and C-suite Managment executive. And now I\'ve taken on a new challenge with the acquisition of a new studio, ARTISTS ANIMATION STUDIO in Kelowna, BC. Formerly Yeti Farm Creative Animation Studio, we will continue to build on the former studio’s legacy of excellence in providing full-scale animation service capabilities from script to screen at a competitive cost for studios around the world, with the help of the region’s enhanced Canadian Tax Credit incentives. Artists Animation Studio will focus on 2D Harmony and Hand-Drawn animation services for adult and children’s series and film content, advertising, and digital content creation. Prior to ARTISTS, as the CEO of Bardel I was able to build on a legacy of excellence with an internal culture of creative achievement and external capability for producing the highest-quality animated productions. Prior to Bardel, I initiated and launched a new business/creative initiative for Sony Pictures Animation, bringing their feature film intellectual property into the TV Series arena. I continue to Executive Produce a new animated series at Sony Pictures Animation based on one of our feature IP\'s. Prior to that, I led the Vancouver studio operations for Sony Pictures Imageworks, a company with a rich history of exceptional work in the feature film and visual effects arenas. I launched and managed Imageworks\' animation/vfx facility in Vancouver, Canada, to it\'s present 800+ Artists. At Technicolor, my challenge was building an overseas presence for Technicolor in animation and games, while maintaining the quality of work of a company with a long and rich history in providing services to the entertainment industry. At Reach Games, it was building an outsource model that relied on partnering with key game development talent. At Mainframe Entertainment, it was the challenge of turning around a financially-strapped studio through cost control, expansion of revenues/client base and continuing emphasis on quality of work. At Harvey Entertainment, it was the challenge of reinvigorating some of the most iconic brands in kid\'s entertainment. Specialties: Studio Management, creative quality control, business affairs, financial oversight, P&L Management, Int’’l business.
