About Rick Hughes

I am a local product of Cincinnati, Ohio and after graduating from Walnut Hills High School, I attended Thomas More College in Crestview Hills, Kentucky. Upon completion, I was fortunate to have been able to play professional athletics for fifteen years; fourteen in the European Leagues and one with the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA. During that time abroad, I had the chance to assimilate into other cultures while maintaining my own identity. This time allowed for a broadened purview of life; recognizing that I had to put aside my preconceived notions for the common goal, winning. That portion of my past has challenged my concept of normalcy, inevitably allowing me to continually think outside of the “proverbial box”.Upon retirement, I went back to coach at my Alma Mater, Thomas More College. We finished the season with a 23-5 record (the best in the school’s history) while forever changing the limits in the minds of the young men. My work history as a President\'s Club earning Sales Professional has strengthened my persistent resolve for excellence. I’ve mastered the art of the cold call, time efficient presentations while ultimately closing the sale. My tenure as an athlete shows the discipline and dedication to perform at an extremely high level for an extended period of time. I was challenged to grasp specific and complex concepts in an immediate fashion, which led to a prosperous 15 year career. While playing, I was fortunate to have had the opportunity to act as a \"de-facto\" agent and advisor for others seeking employment as an athlete as well. The challenge of recruiting, representing, negotiating and ultimately assisting in placing those players shows the tenacity and determination indicative of a successful Business Developer.
