As the Founder and President of Sklar Furnishings in Boca Raton, Florida, I have created a new hybrid retail model that places a priority on inspiring customers, rather than selling only inventoried products from their showroom floor. Instead of buying the furnishings that fill the showroom to sell, my team and I purchased them to curate a lifestyle brand with a visually stunning showroom for the design trade and for our clients which help them visualize what their homes could look like. My extensive experience in manufacturing has allowed me to bring innovation into the new business along with vertical integration of services. This innovative concept has been successful over the 19 years we’ve been in business, with steady growth over this time. Contemporary furniture has been part of my life for 50 years, and that helps Sklar find the right lines, putting exciting furniture on the showroom floor, and empowering the design team with great products to make their clients’ dreams a reality. The showroom is viewed as a curated space to inspire our customers, and the product lines Sklar carries empower their designers with the resources to do what they love.
