About Frederick Hotchner

I retired from CIA\'s Senior Intelligence Service in 2018 after 28 years of service in the Directorate of Operations. I spent over 15 years of my career in field assignments and served in several senior leadership positions in Headquarters. I now advise companies and non-profits on a range of leadership/management, security and geopolitical issues, helping them solve complex problems by drawing upon my network, and skills and experience in the following disciplines- executive leadership and management- intelligence- counterintelligence- counterterrorism- personnel and physical security in the U.S. and overseas- geopolitics and foreign policy- risk analysis and mitigation- and government relations. On a select basis, I am also open to opportunities to write or speak publicly. With respect to non-profit work, I am particularly interested in the following (in no particular order)- efforts to bridge the political divide in the United States, by reestablishing an ability and willingness to engage people with whom we disagree, assuming noble intent on their part, and listening with an effort to understand them and the basis for their positions, with a view to restoring unity so we can work together to gain clarity on our problems and find solutions- children\'s welfare, including but not limited to equal access to a high-quality education that gives all students the tools needed for the work of citizenship and success in the 21st Century economy- animal welfare- countering human trafficking and the sex slavery that emanates from it- supporting those who suffer from PTS and/or TBI and, relatedly, decreasing the suicide rate of veterans, other USG personnel who have served in war zones, police officers, firefighters and other first responders- and helping the people of Afghanistan.
