About Rick Himmel

With more than 30 years of experience in mechanical engineering, Rick Himmel understands the challenges faced by facilities staff and project managers for complex facilities. His long-standing relationships with local clients such as Amazon, Microsoft, Facebook, and Premera are built on his attention to customer needs, and developing practical systems responding to complex criteria. Rick has worked extensively on technically challenging projects such as high tech offices, hospitals, research facilities, and cleanrooms. His 30+ years of project experience also includes high-rise and medical office buildings, data centers, theaters, commercial kitchen and dining facilities, hotels, universities, manufacturing, food processing, laboratories, and clean rooms.Rick brings both technical expertise and excellent communication skills. He has served on both the Washington State Building Code Advisory Committee and Seattle Code Advisory Committee. As an instructor for the Mechanical Contractors Association of Washington, Rick shared his extensive knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and specialized piping for industrial and manufacturing, public, hospitality, hospital, and bio-tech and chemistry lab facilities.Rick is an avid bike-rider and biking advocate. Each year, he participates in fundraising rides for organizations including the Lung Association, Heart Association, Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital, and the Major Taylor Project, which brings the joys of biking to kids from diverse backgrounds at 17 local schools.
