Responsible for the supervision, guidance and direction of the Jackson County’s Facilities Management Division, including over 1.2 million square feet of property in nearly 20 buildings for Jackson County, Missouri associates and the 16th Circuit Court of Missouri• Responsible for assessing maintenance needs, delegating and inspecting the quality of work for 22 tradesmen associated with carpentry, HVAC, electrical services, plumbing & painting, and 25 custodial services associates• Develop and oversee annual budgets for each facility, including large capital improvements, RFP analysis, and recommendations; monitoring of ongoing service contracts for compliance and analysis of actual to projected repair costs• Direct interaction with the Jackson County Executive Office and Jackson County Legislators to ensure all needs are met according to standard and legal requirements• Serve as an acting project manager to define project goals and scope, organize internal staff and vendors, manage the critical path and overall schedule, manage project resources, ensure the quality of work performed, lead OAC meetings, communicate with the Executive management team, and safeguard the overall budget of the project• Conducted analysis with recommendations in the pursuit of upgraded state-of-the-art software systems to replace obsolete systems • Work with staff to prepare short and long-term maintenance procedures and repair goals, projected repair costs, record maintenance histories of the facilities and operating systems • Involved in multi-million-dollar projects writing the scope of work, contributing to the bid and award process, and overseeing construction to the final product.• Contribute to emergency preparedness plans with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department and Jackson County stakeholders• Responsible for the physical appearance and system operations of the Jackson County Missouri Courthouses and County Buildings, and the Jackson County Corrections Department.
