Mentor, coach, teach, and manage the WRTV newsroom MMJ\'s, senior reporters and anchors.• Run daily editorial meetings to select the content we cover at the ABC affiliate in Indianapolis.• Review all MMJ/reporter/anchor package scripts daily for accuracy and legal considerations. • Make recommendations on how to tell more compelling and impactful stories. • Spend one-on-one time with all members of my staff to improve shooting, editing, and storytelling. • Work closely with Talent Acquisition to hire, recruit, and retain top MMJ\'s/Reporters/Anchors.• Oversee the Investigative Team and the award-winning content it produces for on-air and digital.• Handle quarterly staff check-ins to document the growth of team members.• Manage the schedules of on-air staff while reducing the financial burden of excessive overtime.• Hold weekly reporter meetings to upskill staffers and foster peer review of their stories. • Helped launch and implement the Scripps Neighborhood News differentiator in Indianapolis.• Work closely with News Director to develop an engaging vision for our newsroom.• Created an AI Advisory Council to shape, form, direct, and guide newsroom policy on responsible use of Engine Room/Artificial Intelligence while maintaining Scripps\' core values.
