ABOUT RICHARD R.

A passionate and innovative leader with 30 years experience in the water sector that holds a senior management position with direct responsibility for health, safety security and well-being. Highly motivated and passionate about helping people to achieve their ambitions and simultaneously improving the safety and well-being. Led the H&S Strategy for a FTSE100 water and waste water utility with direct employees of over 6500 and a supply chain of similar size. Through collaborative leadership style delivered best ever H&S performance across both internal and core supply chain partners. My experience spans across all aspects of the water sector in the UK, with overseas work in South America and short term placements in Europe and Australia. As a Chartered Environmentalist and Safety professional built upon solid operational foundations I am able to influence at all levels from front line to Board Room. I have led sector wide groups for the UK driving collaboration, knowledge sharing and collective improvement in the Health, Safety and Wellbeing within the water sector. I have demonstrable track records of collaboration delivering tangible improvements with regulators (HSE, EA, DWI), trade bodies (WaterUK, UKWIR, WRc) and Trade Union partners,(Unison, GMB, Unite). I am an active governor at our local primary school leading on H&S and Safeguarding and supporting the growth of the academy.
