About Richie Smikle

Adventurous: I’ve been to six different countries throughout my life and am constantly looking for a new place to go. I have already seen more parts of the world than either of my parents have in their whole lives. This worldly experience gives me a broad perspective that is uncommon in someone my age. Even when I’m at home, I am always trying to go do something new. This also translates into my work, as I enjoy looking for new ways to solve problems. Personable: While working at the front desk of the Indianapolis Community Tennis facility I regularly interacted with people on a daily basis. This required great people skills, which come to me fairly naturally. I have always been able to relate to every person I meet. Even if on the surface I have nothing in common with them, I will find something that we can talk about. Forming relationships with people is both something I am good at and enjoy. Determined: I am a very determined and competitive person. I don’t give up and I don’t like to lose. One ex- ample: I started skateboarding this past summer and wanted to learn how to do tricks. In order to accomplish this I would go out into my neighborhood every day and practice for at least an hour until I was able to consistently land whichever trick I was working on. Along the way I took countless falls and picked up a whole collection of bumps and bruises, but continued to practice.
