ABOUT RICHARD WALKER
An innovative and highly experienced geophysicist and geoscience team leader across the E&P spectrum from frontier exploration to development; deep water to onshore. I have a broad and deep knowledge of geophysics and petroleum geology ranging from initial scoping and planning through to detailed 3D seismic analysis, all gained with operating companies. Extensive project management experience, coupled with strong mentoring and team leadership skills, to deliver high performance.Thirty years experience from many worldwide basins including the UKCS, Libya, Venezuela, Egypt, China, Uruguay and Chad, with a wide range of geological environments. I enjoy working in multi-disciplinary teams, solving sub-surface challenges and delivering technical programmes and results. I have led high performing teams of varying size and diverse composition.Most of my career has been focussed on seismic interpretation and prospect generation, with involvement in proven exploration successes. Experienced in the management of geophysical projects from design through to execution. These have included 2D and 3D seismic acquisition and processing, 3D Controlled Source Electromagnetic acquisition and processing, seabed coring, heatflow and well seismic programmes. I also have considerable working practical experience of seismic processing and geophysical special projects.I am an experienced prospect generator with significant onshore and offshore successes in many worldwide basins and environments. Whilst I have been more biased towards exploration, I also have many years of experience on the Appraisal and Development sides of the business, including well planning. I have a strong working knowledge and practical experience of Reservoir Engineering, Well Engineering, Production Technology, Reserves Calculations, Risking, and Petroleum Economics.Available now for contract work or staff positions, peer review, farm-in evaluations, technical advice.
