ABOUT RICHARDUS VONK

I\'ve spent over 30 years at the intersection of statistics, clinical strategy, and drug development, and I\'ve done it from nearly every seat at the table.I started my career as a statistician at a CRO, and it was the best possible training ground. I did everything: trial design, analysis, statistical reporting, methodological innovation, across indications and all phases of development. That breadth shaped how I think about the work to this day. From there I moved into big pharma, ultimately serving as VP and Head of Oncology Data Analytics and Statistical Sciences at Bayer AG, where scale, governance, and enterprise complexity define the work. Today I serve as VP, Head of Biometrics at ITM, a clinical-stage radiopharmaceutical biotech where the stakes are high and every data decision matters. That arc means I understand how the same challenge looks fundamentally different depending on where you sit, and I know how to bridge those differences in ways that actually move programs forward. The work I find most compelling right now is the application of AI and advanced data science to clinical development. Not as a productivity tool, but as a genuine shift in how we design trials, analyze evidence, and make decisions under uncertainty. Organizations that treat it strategically will develop better drugs faster. Most aren\'t there yet.Alongside my executive role, I advise a clinical data technology company rethinking how analyses are validated and submitted, using AI and graph-based traceability to reduce regulatory risk and accelerate approvals. It keeps me close to where the field is actually heading.I also speak to leadership teams, scientific audiences, and industry conferences on AI in clinical development, data-informed decision-making, and building organizations that can operate at the speed the science now demands. If any of that resonates, I\'d welcome the conversation.
