About Richard Sergo
I graduated in 2012 with a Bachelor\'s of Science degree in Chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I founded a college nightclub in 2010 during my 3rd year at the university, establishing a formal business plan, procuring equipment, and obtaining all necessary documentation with the state of North Carolina for compliant operations. I managed all aspects of business operations, including management of over 30 individuals until the sale of the business in 2015 (5 years). In 2013, I began pursuing my Master\'s of Engineering - Industrial Concentration degree from NC State University, finally obtaining my degree in July 2016. I entered the bio-pharmaceutical field with Merck & Co. in Dec 2012 and have progressed from entry level technician to Reliability Engineer overseeing 4 different areas of production, encompassing both upstream and downstream processing. I have since participated in multiple projects to streamline processing, reduce operating and maintenance costs, increase equipment availability and up-time, as well as organize a procedural approach to condition based monitoring for the plant.
