ABOUT RICHARD PHILLIPS

My big passion is helping members of socially and economically disadvantaged communities to make progress in their lives. I’ve had the great pleasure to do this through roles in the FE, HE and charity sectors in many paid and voluntary roles. Personally overcoming a stammer and dyslexia to succeed in my career and life has strongly influenced my work practice. I have learnt to become an eloquent and excellent speaker, able to tailor my approach to the situation whether in conversation with a young person, a colleague or senior staff member in a large organisation. I draw on the many advantages of being dyslexic too and believe in getting all those that I work with to do the same, focusing on individual strengths that make them stand out from the crowd.
