ABOUT RICHARD MOYNIHAN
I have overseen editorial innovation, digital publishing transformation, significant audience growth and cultural change.I head Digital Formats at BBC News, overseeing four teams, with a brief to help make visual and powerful journalism that\'s reached by broad audiences. At The Telegraph, I oversaw the new formats, data journalism, and editorial development teams. I was responsible for strategic and creative direction of bespoke, high quality editorial content that sat outside of traditional article templates. This included interactive journalism, new visual storytelling formats, long reads and journalistic tools. Prior to this, I was New Formats Editor and Social Media Editor. Before joining The Telegraph, I headed up social at Metro, worked in online editorial at Emap (now Bauer), and was managing editor at Al Gore’s Emmy and Webby-award winning Current (acquired by Al Jazeera in 2013), overseeing online editorial, social media and community. During the 2008 US Presidential elections, I worked in San Francisco on the first-known instance of a TV channel incorporating Twitter into live TV, and like to take any opportunity I can to work my love of Sigur Rós into online bios.
