About Richard Watts

What makes me tick? Good communication. Details. Organization. Problem Solving. Data. Those things are at the core of my 30 plus year professional career that started with software development and evolved into project management. In the latest chapter of my career, I have managed the transition of data and services in support of divestitures, and I have focused on the quality and efficiency of data integrations in support of acquisitions. The first 20-plus years of my career I focused on implementing custom applications in the Utilities, Manufacturing, and Insurance industries, establishing my expertise in Data Migration/Conversion, Customer Information Systems, Enterprise Asset Management, Data Analysis, Requirements Analysis and Business Transformation.Highlighted Successes:*Co-authored a Transition Services Agreement (TSA) for two large divestitures and managed the delivery of the agreed upon services, coordinating activities among numerous representatives of both the buyer and seller.* Successfully guided the customization and implementation of BackOffice Associates’ Data Stewardship Platform (DSP) dspCompose data migration software to manage the integration of acquisition data into SAP ERP & SAP CRM. The project reduced the manual effort of integration by over 50% and dramatically reduced initial billing errors to new customers.* Led an Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) Data Migration team of 6 people, as part of a Business Transformation (BT) project, to successfully complete the conversion of 44 million records from Infor CMMS to SAP, with zero failures, despite being unfamiliar with both systems prior to taking on the role.*Served as Technical Lead on a Customer Information System (CIS) Archive/Purge project to bring the company’s 19 CIS databases into compliance with the a new legal records retention policy. Successfully deleted 3.3 billion records (nearly 29% of the total records in the system), reducing the databases by 1.3TB (nearly 19% of the original size). The result was 100% compliance with the legal retention policy and an average performance improvement of 22% in the run time of key processes.
